Selling on LiveSoko

What it costs

Commission on what you sell, and nothing else. No listing fee, no monthly fee, and no charge for going live. If you sell nothing, you pay nothing.

Your rate is set by the category a product is listed in. It is written onto each order the moment it is placed, so if we change a rate later it never applies to sales you already made.

How you get paid

• Buyers pay LiveSoko, not you directly. That is what makes a stranger willing to pay before they have the goods.
• Your money is released after the buyer has the parcel, then sent to your M-Pesa on your payout schedule.
• Delivery is charged to the buyer on top and goes to whoever carries the parcel. It never comes out of your side.
• Refunds you agree to are deducted from your next payout. Refunds we decide to carry ourselves are not.

What we expect from you

• Send what you listed. The item should match its photos and description.
• Dispatch when you said you would. You set your own dispatch time — a slower promise you keep is worth far more than a fast one you miss.
• Answer buyers. Questions and returns need a reply within about two days.
• Sell only what you may. Nothing illegal, counterfeit, stolen, or restricted.

What you can expect from us

• Every deduction itemised, down to the order line and the rate charged on it, downloadable as a spreadsheet you can check independently.
• Your ID documents stored encrypted, never shown to buyers, never sold or shared outside LiveSoko.
• Notice before a rate changes, and no retrospective change to sales already made.
• A person to talk to when something goes wrong.

Suspension and closing your shop

We can pause a shop while we look into a problem — repeated non-delivery, items that are not what was described, or anything unlawful. Money you have already earned stays yours and is paid out once the matter is settled. You can close your shop whenever you like, as long as you have delivered the orders people have already paid for.

Your details

We ask for your ID so we can pay you without holding funds, and so nobody else can open a shop in your name. We check that the name on your ID matches the account the money goes to. We do not use your documents for anything else.
